Dear Colleagues
On behalf of the scientific committee, it is our great pleasure to welcome you to Basel for the Joint annual meeting 2017 of the Swiss Societies for Microbiology (SSM), for Infectious Diseases (SSI), Hospital Hygiene (SSHH), Tropical Medicine and Parasitology (SSTMP) and the Swiss Society of Tropical and Travel Medicine (SSTTM).
The congress will take place in the multi-functional Congress Center Basel from Wednesday,
August 30 to Friday, September 01, 2017.
The scientific committee spared no effort to conceive a scientific program that meets the specific interests of the different specialities without missing out the value of interdisciplinary lectures and common topics. We are delighted to announce several renowned national and international speakers - among them Jim O’Neill, Lord O’Neill of Gatley with his lecture on Economics of Antimicrobial Resistance.
The program will be enriched by the SGSH/SSHH Symposium, the SSTMP Symposium «OneHealth», multiple SSM Symposia (virology, mycology, environmental microbiology, prokaryotic biology) and a SSM/SSI Symposium on clinical microbiology on Wednesday. Numerous scientific contributions of young researchers and clinicians will complement the plenary and workshop sessions of the meeting.
Besides the scientific parts, the congress also provides ample space to visit the industrial exhibition, to extend your professional network and to share your knowledge and enthusiasm with colleagues and friends.
